Recommended Prior LearningIT would be helpful for you to have taken our Junior Nutrition and Health Studies course but this is not compulsory.
This course will give you a holistic (overall) understanding of Health through a Food and Nutrition lens. Throughout the year you will deepen your understanding of Hauora and strengthen and use your personal, interpersonal and societal skills that are needed in all areas of life. In this course you will also have the opportunity to create and cook deliciously nutritious foods that strengthen your Hauora.
As part of the trial you will cover 4 Achievement Standards, 2 from the Health Focus and 2 from the Food and Nutrition Focus worth a total of 20 credits. They are made up of a mixture of Internal and External Standards.
NCEA Level 2 Food and Nutrition, NCEA Level 2 Health Studies, NCEA Level 3 Food and Nutrition, NCEA Level 3 Health Studies
The health sector, such as - care, support and rehabilitation of people, diagnosing and treating people and health promotion and advice etc.
The Hospitality sector, such as - working with food and drink
The Education sector, such as planning programmes and classes about health and wellbeing
