In this course you will delve into the world of food through the Hospitality lens. You will learn how to prepare, cook and serve a variety of different food and drinks in an industry setting and there will be an emphasis on presenting the food to a high standard. You will learn advanced knife skills, preparing and presenting hot finger foods, making and garnishing mocktails (non-alcoholic drinks), preparing food by grilling and frying etc. You will also have the opportunity to assist the year 13 Catering students with food prep for the School Restaurants that we run. Here you will work with a qualified chef to hone your skills and learn about job opportunities within the Hospitality Industry. This is a hands on course where you can put what you learn into action.
