Science - Mechanics, Energy and Electricity

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs R. Blair

Creativity & Innovation

This course is for students who want to learn more about the physics of speed and motion. You will learn about how all things move and the science behind electricity, forces, energy and motion. You will also be calculating speed, energy changes, acceleration and momentum. Topics could include skateboards, robots, boats, electric cars, bows and arrows, catapults, rockets, cell phones, and planes. Mechatronics, robotics and coding will be introduced. Classes will involve a series of activities, projects and experiments to answer the following questions. Who can make the fastest boat? Which catapult goes the furthest? Which plane goes the highest? How do things move? Problem-solving within groups and thinking critically will be a focus.
