This course is for students who are interested in how things work. You will learn about how things move and the science behind electricity, forces, energy and motion. You will be calculating speed, energy changes, acceleration and momentum, current and voltage. Topics could include, robots, boats, electric cars, bows and arrows, catapults, rockets, cell phones, and planes. 3 -D printing will be introduced. There will be activities, projects and experiments to answer the following questions. Who can make the fastest boat? Which catapult goes the furthest? Which rocket goes the highest? How do things move? How does an electric motor work? Problem-solving within groups and thinking critically will be a focus.
