Critical Thinking
This course is for students who have an interest in Forensic Science. How do detectives use science to solve crimes and prevent further injustices? What evidence from crime scenes will help identify suspects? What makes a person commit a crime? You will learn about trace evidence analysis such as hair, fibre, fingerprints and DNA. Classes will use scientific skills from Biology, Chemistry and Physics to analyse and interpret crime scene evidence. The Forensics topics studied include ballistics, blood spatter, chemical analysis, dissections, entomology, autopsies and fingerprints. The Psychology unit will discuss the brain's structure, why people commit crimes, and the profiling and studying of serial killers.
