Recommended Prior Learning

It is helpful if you have studied Art as an option in either Year 9 or 10





Select from a range of design briefs and develop a range of imaginative and inspirational design solutions.  The brief to choose from include: graphic design, advertising; fashion and architecture.

This is an introductory course for students interested in Photography and/or Design.  You will learn to use a camera, along with learning Photoshop, Illustration and InDesign programmes to enable you to manipulate images and develop design ideas.  You will learn to use the design process in order to enrich your creativity.  There are options if you are taking two lines of Art at Year 11, to complete a Level 2 Printmaking or Sculpture folio in this option.

In 2024 students will be using the new NCEA Visual Art achievement standards worth a total of 20 credits (10 internal credits and 10 external credits)
