English - The Meaning of Life

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Ms D. Purches

Critical Thinking

This course is for students who would like the time to explore their own identity and ancestors as well as true life stories of others. You will learn the way myths and legends relate to modern society and tell us more about ourselves, as well as how learning about other people's journeys can have an impact on our own lives. Classes will involve the exploration of stories from the past that are written to teach societal values, which may include what some of the great philosophers believed was the ‘meaning of life’. You will reflect on how these stories actually influence what you think and believe - your values. You will apply this to images and writing about your own identity.
