This course is for students who are interested in the outdoors and survival. It’s not an Outdoor Ed class though, it’s a Mathematics course that uses well-known situations, as well as the extraordinary, relating to the outdoors. Think Bear Grylls vs Maths, or Survivor Maths Island, or the Amazing Maths Race. You will learn a variety of Mathematical skills relating to measurement and geometry. Classes will involve evaluating shelters, map reading, planning a tramp, and obstacle course design. This is a general Mathematics course with a focus on Measurement and Geometry.
