In this course we will explore measurement and geometry within a variety of interesting topics based around food. Topics could include food trucks and planning how to move our truck around to maximise exposure, recycling and food waste, food packaging and storage, urban farming and food production, and a unit looking at popcorn, pasta and cakes. This course will appeal to students who are interested in all things related to food. It’s not a cooking course though; it’s a Maths course that uses the everyday situations we find ourselves in relating to food. You’ll learn some new maths to creatively solve everyday food-based problem. Occasionally our tasks will be fixed around a set scenario, but for the rest of the time you will have choice around the details that you are working with. This is a Mathematics course with a focus on Measurement and Geometry.
