NCEA Level 3 Calculus
13MATC Course Description Recommended Prior Learning16 credits from Level 2 Mathematics, including some at merit level and passed the Calculus external standard at Level 2. If you have not met these requirements, you will need the support of your Level 2 teacher and approval from the Head of Mathematics before you select this course.
The course is most appropriate for students who have an interest in the continuing study of mathematics, the sciences, engineering, or any field in which logical reasoning and analysis are important tools.
If you have not taken 12 MATA you must see the Head of Mathematics for approval to take this course. Students who did not attempt the external examination for Calculus offered in 12 MATA in 2023 will also need approval from the Head of Mathematics.
This is an NCEA approved subject for University Entrance and students will need to pass at least one external standard to gain the required number of credits.
