Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs C. Kyle.

NCEA Level 1 Mathematics or NCEA Numeracy is compulsory for all students.

We offer 3 different courses and will work with you to select the course that best meets your learning needs for 2024.  The majority of students will take either Level 1 Mathematics with Statistics OR Level 1 Mathematics with Algebra as their course in 2024. Some students will be enrolled in NCEA Numeracy if they have not yet met the Numeracy co-requisite at the start of 2024.  If you have any concerns about your class please contact the Head of Mathematics.

NCEA Level 1 Mathematics with Statistics: This course is suited to students who have completed Year 10 Numeracy, alongside a junior Mathematics Course.  You will learn a range of topics that will provide credits towards NCEA Level 1 and leads to either Level 2 Mathematics with Statistics or Level 2 Mathematics. This course has one external exam. There are a reduced number of standards for 2024 as the new NCEA Level 1 standards are implemented.
