Health & PE - Take Me to the Next Level
This course is for students who are already active in a sport of some form. You need to be coach-able and prepared to challenge yourself. This is NOT a games-based course. You will learn how to develop and improve as an athlete in today’s world. We will explore what it means to be successful, how to be successful and key factors that must be considered for physical and mental training. To do this we will look at factors such as Sports Psychology, Nutrition, injury prevention and the Principles and Methods of training. Classes will involve you developing, following and evaluating your own training programmes as well as looking at the role mindset plays in preparing you for a successful sporting experience. Therefore, a large portion of this course will be theory based and requires classroom sessions.
