Science - Explosive Science - B
Teacher in Charge: Mrs R. Blair
Community & Society
Science has been an integral part of discoveries, inventions and war. In this course, you will investigate and learn about why things explode: elements, compounds and states of matter. You will link chemicals to their uses. You will be completing experiments and keeping a log of your observations and findings. Topics covered will be Atoms, the Periodic Table, Acids and Bases, Matter, Explosions, Fire, Fuels, and Chemical Reactions. This course aims to link theoretical knowledge with practical experiences. You could be building flame-throwers, catapults and rockets and finding out which chemicals make the best explosions. The implications of using Science to destroy things or used for good will be covered.
Standards shown on courses are only an indication and not all may be offered at the time of study.
