MUSICADV is a course for students who want to learn about music, how to play an instrument and compose music. This course is aimed at students who have taken FUNMusic or who have some prior experience playing an instrument or singing.
At the beginning of the course you will be asked which instrument you would like to have lessons on. We offer:
- Keyboard/Piano
- Drums
- Guitar
- Vocals
You will also develop you knowledge of music, including:
- Theory
- Aural
- Composition - using SoundTrap
Typically our classes involve a range of activities that involve learning to use SoundTrap, developing Theory and Aural skills, and practical time where we play music together as a class.
In MUSICADV we will complete three Achievements:
- Music Basics: Here we will start with researching a music topic of your choice. This achievement also includes showing knowledge of music theory.
- Music Composition: You will have the opportunity to create your own music. You will begin to learn how to build a piece of music from scratch using SoundTrap.
- Music Performance: Everyone will get to perform as part of a small group on an instrument. The performance will take place in front of the class.
After completing this course it is recommended that you select Year 11 Music or repeat this course if you took it in Year 9.
