Mathematics - The Great Outdoors
Course Description
This course is for students who are interested in exploring the mathematics related to the great outdoors. You will learn a variety of mathematical skills from the New Zealand curriculum for Mathematics and Statistics. Classes will involve theory and practical sessions where you will engage with different problems relating to navigation, survival, rescue, pest control, shelter and protection, hazard identification and much more. Group work will be an element of this course - whānau learning is essential for today and the future! All mathematics courses cover the same achievement objectives and students should choose the topic that most interests them.
