NCEA Level 3 Physical Education
Course Description

This is an academic course which will allow you to learn how to
- Plan, organise and evaluate an event;
- Research a trend, issue or event and look at it's impacts on society;
- Participate and achieve in a sport against National Standards;
- Improve personal performance through analysis of anatomical and bio mechanical factors;
- Plan and implement Safety Management procedures - possible class trip.
Students need to be prepared to undertake both practical and theory activities, and work independently at times to do research and complete assessments. You can achieve 17 credits over the five assessments.
Recommended Prior Learning
Obtained at least 15 credits in Year 12 Physical Education (Year 12 Biology may be considered, or at HOD's discretion).
Pathway
This course will be valuable for anyone interested in pursuing any of the Health Sciences at University. This could include Sport and Exercise Science, Nursing, Physiotherapy or Physical Education, to name a few. It will also be valuable to any student wishing to head into Personal Training or just develop their own knowledge and skills.

This course is completely internally assessed. Assessment will take place during practical activities and written ( or otherwise), reports.Credit Information
