Course Description

A history of conflict in New Zealand and around the world. The students will also study the role of conflict in at least one ancient civilisation.

You will learn how New Zealand / New Zealander’s participation in conflict has impacted on and contributed to our community and nation. We will explore various conflicts, home and abroad, and the reactions of individuals, community and country to our nation's involvement in these. You will have the opportunity to work collaboratively and individually over the course to develop an awareness of the causes and effects of conflicts; their impacts on people and places.

You will study an ancient civilisation. This will include investigating daily life, beliefs, innovation, conquest, monuments, leadership and roles in society.
