Course Description

This course is for students who are interested in Aotearoa's origins, indigenous and migrant histories. You will learn about our geographic formation and how birds and wildlife flourished in this land before the arrival of people. You will investigate early Pacific migration and the skills and knowledge required by these great navigators. You will also find out about the impact that people had on Aotearoa's environment and the important connection between this land and its early inhabitants, as well as later migrant groups. There will also be the opportunity to investigate how these different groups interacted and the impact that they had on each other. In this course you will develop your critical thinking, inquiry and communications skills.
