FUNdamentals of Music

Course Description

FUNMusic is a course for students who want to learn about music and how to play an instrument. This course assumes you have no knowledge of how to play a musical instrument.

At the beginning of the course you will be asked which instrument you would like to have lessons on. We offer:

Keyboard/Piano
Drums
Guitar
Vocals

You will also learn some of the fundamental skills of music, including:

Theory
Aural
Composition - using SoundTrap

Typically our classes involve a range of activities that involve learning to use SoundTrap, developing Theory and Aural skills, and practical time where we play music together as a class.

In FUNMusic we will complete three Achievements:

Music Fundamentals: Here we will start with researching a music topic of your choice. This achievement also includes showing knowledge of music theory.
Music Composition: You will have the opportunity to create your own music. You will begin to learn how to build a piece of music from scratch using SoundTrap.
Music Performance: Everyone will get to perform as part of a small group on an instrument. The performance will take place in front of the class.

After completing this course it is recommended that you select Advanced Junior Music.
