Course Description

Continue to develop your knowledge of dance. You will complete a minimum of four Achievement Standards during the year.
Course Overview
Term 1
Developing dance performance skills
Students will learn a variety of dance genres or styles and rehearse these dances to a performance level in which they are able to communicate an understanding of the genre/style being performed.
Term 2
Developing dance choreographic skills
Students will learn a variety of dance choreographic processes to enable them to choreograph dances to communicate an intention.
Term 3
Analyse a dance performance
Students will study a dance performance in which they will learn to analyse and relate to their knowledge, understanding of dance linking it to the wider society.
Term 4
Preparation for external examination
Students will continue to strengthen their understanding and knowledge of a dance performance in preparation for the external examination.
Recommended Prior Learning
Successfully completed Year 11 Dance or have been approved to be placed in this class by the teacher in charge.

Stationery Requirements: 1 x clearfile, refill
