NCEA Level 2 History

Course Description

Teacher in Charge: Mrs C. Yates.

This course explores a range of topics that investigate Aotearoa forging its own path, both at home and on the world's stage. It will see New Zealand breaking away from traditional allies and making new connections. This could include topics such as Nuclear Testing in the Pacific, the Women's Suffrage Movement and our involvement in the Vietnam War, to name just a few. Within this course, students will be able to pursue topics that they connect with and are passionate about.

This course will help to develop students' research, critical thinking, essay writing and analytical skills. These are essential for a range of careers, further study and to be empowered to take an active role in the world in which we live. It is also possible to gain University Entrance literacy from this course.
