NCEA Level 1 Music
Course Description
Teacher in Charge:
In Year 11 Music you will really begin to start to grow your performance and composition skills. Solo and Group performances are expected at this level as well as developing Music Theory knowledge, as well. You will also receive private tuition on your chosen instrument(s) (max two) each week. The Performing Arts department has a number of co-curricular activities for students to partake in: RockQuest and Tangata Beats competitions, Barbershop groups, Choir, WHATShow and ShowQuest.
Recommended Prior Learning
You should have attended Year 10 Music Option class, and passed most of the assessments and performances that were set during the year. Alternatively, you will need to show you have the necessary performance and theory skills. Approval into this course is decided by the HOD Music.

Stationery Requirements: Clearfile, 1 x 1B5, Manuscript paper, HB pencil, eraser
